John McCartney is the Executive Director of the Ecosystem Protection Project. He is a former Infantry and Military Intelligence Officer serving 10 years in the US Army in a variety of assignments, including as an advisor to the Iraqi National Police, Ministry of the Interior with the Iraq Assistance Group in East Baghdad and as a key member of US Pacific Command's, Security Cooperation Program, where he built critical partnerships with our allies in the Pacific. After he left the US Army in 2011, he served in numerous assignments within the Department of Defense and US Intelligence Community including the National Counterterrorism Center, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence and Office of the Director of National Intelligence. John is a Nationally Certified Paramedic and holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Master of Public Administration from Florida Gulf Coast University.
